Can I get Pharmacy First for earache?
What it does
Less time on the phone. Clinical calls where they belong.
It reduces staff workload, streamlines calls, protects patient confidentiality and escalates clinical enquiries to the pharmacist. It assists your team; it never replaces the pharmacist's judgement.
Pharmacy First, assisted
Your approved questions asked first, and the answers passed to the pharmacist, who decides.
Routine calls, 24/7
Opening hours, directions, parking and your services, answered from your own details.
Clinical calls to the pharmacist
Medicines questions, symptoms and anything urgent go straight through. No advice, no guesses.
999 said first
A caller who may be in danger is told to ring 999, then put through. It never dials for them.
Out of hours, signposted
When you reopen, NHS 111 for urgent advice, 999 in an emergency. Nobody on your team is rung.
Prescription status, identity-checked
Surname, date of birth and postcode must all match before anything personal is said.
Every call transcribed
Line by line, for audit, quality checks, complaint investigation and training.
Learns from your team
Correct any reply from a transcript, and it's in force on the next call.

How it works
From the first ring to a pharmacy that keeps getting better.
Eight short scenes. Watch it play, or step through at your own pace.
1/8The problem
The phone never stops. The counter never empties.
Most pharmacy calls are the same five questions. Each one pulls a trained person off the bench for a minute they don't have.
- Do you do Pharmacy First?
- Is my prescription ready?
- What time do you close?
- Is there parking?
FAQ
Questions pharmacy owners ask
What does PharmaLineAI do?
It is an AI receptionist for UK community pharmacies. It answers routine calls on your existing number (opening hours, directions, services, Pharmacy First enquiries and identity-checked prescription status) and puts anything clinical through to the pharmacist.
Does it handle Pharmacy First?
Yes. It explains the NHS service in approved wording and, with questions your pharmacist has approved, asks them first and saves the answers for the pharmacist. It never diagnoses or decides eligibility: the pharmacist does.
Does it give clinical advice or call 999?
No to both. Clinical questions go to the pharmacist. If someone may be in danger, the caller is told to ring 999 straight away and is then put through to the pharmacist.
What happens out of hours?
It still answers routine questions, says when you reopen, and points callers to NHS 111 for urgent advice or 999 in an emergency. Nobody on your team is rung unless you set an out-of-hours number.
Can it check prescriptions in our PMR?
Not directly yet. Today it reads the status your team sets in PharmaLineAI, after the caller's surname, date of birth and postcode all match. Direct PMR connections are coming soon.
Can we review what was said on a call?
Yes. Every call has a transcript, line by line, and a recording if you switch recording on. Use them for audit, quality checks, complaints and training the assistant.
Is it ready for a live pharmacy pilot?
The phone line runs end to end on a test pharmacy in production. Before a pilot pharmacy's real patients rely on it, processor review, legal review and operational sign-off are still to complete.
